The following ethical guidelines apply to editors, authors, reviewers, and staff involved in The Standard Series. By adhering to these principles, Pantheon Academic ensures the integrity and trustworthiness of our scholarly publications.
For Editors
Fairness & Integrity
Editors must ensure unbiased evaluation of manuscripts, with decisions based solely on scientific merit, originality, and relevance.
Confidentiality
All submitted manuscripts remain confidential, disclosed only to those directly involved in the review and publication process.
Conflict of Interest
Editors must declare any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where such conflicts exist.
Ethical Oversight
Editors should ensure adherence to ethical guidelines and uphold editorial independence, free from external or commercial influences.
For Authors
Originality & Plagiarism
Authors must ensure their work is original and cite prior research properly. Any form of plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
Data Integrity
Data must be accurate, reproducible, and free from fabrication or falsification.
Authorship
Only individuals who have significantly contributed to the research should be listed as authors.
Ethical Compliance
Studies involving human or animal subjects must meet ethical standards and secure appropriate IRB approval. Prior dissemination (e.g. conferences) must be disclosed.
Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any conflicts that may influence their findings. Manuscripts should not be submitted to multiple journals simultaneously.
For Reviewers
Confidentiality
Manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential. Details should not be shared beyond those involved in the process.
Objectivity & Citation
Reviews must be fair and free from personal bias. Reviewers should note any uncited relevant research or similarities to existing work.
Conflict of Interest
Potential conflicts should be disclosed, and reviewers must recuse themselves where such conflicts exist.
For Staff
Staff must maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and impartiality in all publication?related interactions, providing clear guidance to authors, reviewers, and editors to ensure ethical compliance. They should be proactive in addressing concerns and upholding the integrity of our publishing process.
Addressing Ethical Violations
Reporting: Suspected ethical breaches should be reported to the editorial office with supporting evidence.
Investigation: The editorial team conducts impartial inquiries, consulting experts or institutions as necessary.
Consequences: Actions may include manuscript retraction, institutional notification, or future submission bans.
Transparency: Findings of investigations will be shared with relevant parties and, if required, publicly disclosed.
